(Gallup)、Jobs for the Future
Many people now use artificial intelligence at work for many kinds of tasks . But a large new study from the United States suggests that the benefits of these tools are not shared equally . The workers who gain the most are often the ones who already have good jobs .
The findings come from the American Job Quality Study , a project by Gallup , Jobs for the Future and the Families and Workers Fund . In early 2026, the researchers surveyed more than 17,000 American workers . They found that only 41 percent held what the study calls “ quality jobs .” These are jobs with fair pay and benefits , safe and respectful workplaces , chances to grow , a voice in decisions and schedules that people can manage .
本段译文 这些发现来自“美国工作质量研究”,这是盖洛普、Jobs for the Future 与 Families and Workers Fund 合作的项目。
Regular use of AI is still not normal for most workers . Only 28 percent of employees said they used it at least once a week , while 54 percent said they had never used it in their role . Forty percent of college graduates used AI daily or weekly , compared with 17 percent of workers without a college degree . Managers were also more likely to use it than other staff . In health care support , factory production and shop sales , most workers never used it .
Among employees who had tried AI , 63 percent said it helped them work faster , and 56 percent said it helped them find more creative solutions . However , the gains were not the same for everyone . Sixty-eight percent of users with a four-year college degree said AI made them faster , compared with 51 percent of users with a high school education or less . Users under 55 and those with higher pay reported more benefits .
The study found a clear link between AI and job quality . Among weekly users , 52 percent had a quality job , compared with 32 percent of people who never used AI . But the researchers warn that this does not prove AI creates better jobs . Many of these users may already have been in good jobs before they started using the tools . The results also depend on what workers said about themselves , not on what their employers measured .
There is another concern . About 31 percent of AI users said their employers had asked them to take on more work since they began using it . Meanwhile , 52 percent of all employees said they had less influence over new technology at work than they wanted . The researchers say it is important to watch whether the benefits of AI will reach more workers or stay with those who are already ahead .
